QUALIFIED DEDICATED SELFLESS

I was raised by my grandmother on a farm in rural  Pennsylvania.  Growing up was always a struggle as we were very impoverished.  I was the first person in my family to go to college.  I learned early on that if I wanted to get an education, I needed to work hard.  I began working when I was 13 years old, babysitting, and did so until I was 16 years old, when I began working in retail.  I worked all throughout college and law school.  I am a successful attorney today because of my hard work and dedication to have an education so that I could provide a better life for my children.

I have an undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University and received my Juris Doctorate degree from The Dickinson School of law.  I began my law career as a law clerk in the Berks County Court of Common Pleas for the Honorable Elizabeth Ehrlich from 1997 to 1999.  I began working in private practice in 1999.  I currently am an associate with Boyd & Karver in Boyertown, Pennsylvania, where I focus on family law.

I am the most qualified candidate for this position. I have practiced law for almost two decades and possess the adequate trial experience and knowledge of rules of evidence and procedure.  I was an adjunct professor at Penn State Berks teaching the Domestic Relations Paralegal Certification Program.  I formerly served as a co-chair and chair of the Berks County Bar Association Family Law Section.   I also was the former President and Treasurer of The Justice William Strong Inn of Court.  In addition, I appeared on Berks County Television “Ask the Lawyer’ program in 2001, 2006 and 2014. I currently am the IV-D attorney for the Domestic Relations Section where I represent the Department of Human Services and represent out of county and out of state Plaintiffs.

I live in Oley with my husband and two awesome children.

As a Judge, I will be committed to applying the law, adhering to rules of evidence and procedure, but most of all to take the time to listen to the facts of each case that comes before me. I want to bring consistency, predictability and efficiency to the Berks County bench.
